With the campsite at Beddgelert closing for the duration of storm Eunice and cancelling my booking, my first camp this year was a BMW Club camp the following week in Llandovery. What a difference from last week, Friday was warm and dry for the ride there with no wind to hamper putting up the tent on the lush flat grass. As a first winter camp at this venue, not many people turned up, but I expect more will come when it is put on next year.
With only seven of us, we were all able to get together in the pub. Saturday dawned bright and sunny which soon cleared Friday night’s frost and it remained sunny all day. Pleasingly, we were all on motorcycles and they were all BMW’s, with two BMW GS’s visiting on Saturday: most unusual for a BMW Club event, with no motorhomes cars or caravans to pollute our group! Sunday arrived sunny with a cool breeze so the tents were bone dry for packing up and a dry ride home completed a very pleasant weekend, it’s so good to be back in a tent.
