Caldbeck and John Peel

With a new front tyre and the Batmobile I headed up to Caldbeck to fine some fellow riders braving the storm Agnes, plus find the grave of John Peel. No not the radio presenter!

It is worth noting the front disc brake conversion, better stopping power for the addition of a sidecar. Also the bike started out life as Comet.

Bit of a sidecar theme this year.

The owner was looking for someone to help set up his carbs, as he had just fitted a new one and he was suffering a bit of ruff running. Note the shiny new carb.

Half a Vincent.

A well used 100GS, last weekend at the Sorebutts in Berrynarbor and this weekend in Caldbeck.

One of our watering holes, Great food, but has Marston’s beers.

On our walk we came across this pub https://www.theoldcrownpub.co.uk/about-the-pub

Behind the pub was https://hesketbrewery.co.uk/ simply stunning beers and well worth a visit. In fact it is fit for a King https://www.itv.com/news/border/2023-05-02/funny-little-pub-patrons-recall-king-charles-great-cockup-on-visit
