Hippo and Smoke

https://www.roman-britain.co.uk/places/north_tawton/

After a wet ride to the Hippo weekend, Saturday the sun came out and we visited North Tawton in search of the hidden hostelry.

Paul and Michael at the Hippo site inspecting 2 “Proper K’s” before we head out.

The pub with no signs, it looked like a house, but known as “The Railway”

Old pictures of the Station inside the pub.

Down in the cellar the pub signs, now we know why it is a little hard to find.

Also down the cellar is where you find the gents loos.

A proper local pub.

On the wall just outside the loos, this old enamel sign….

Well, on that note it is off to “The Smoke” and the London Sidecar club camp

A cracking two nights were spent around the bonfire, on the Friday evening one person, (mention no name) got plastered (his own words) and retired to his BLUE tent. Nice to see a good selection of outfits and my thanks to the London Club https://www.londonsidecarclub.co.uk/index.htm for arranging the weekend and good to see Ken Crisp popping in to say hello to everyone.
