SNOW DROP WANDERINGS or The Panther Owners Club winter rally

The weather forecast for third weekend February was for a very mild & dry (12c) for the next few days. So on Saturday morning, l find myself in the depths of Staffordshire at the POC Winter Rally.

Comes still with 6volts lights.

A Dragon Panther.

The pub gives you a very “homely feeling” and if you have a POWER CUT we have another source of lighting & warmth.

A outfit with NO ENGINE?

Yes with the Mini engine in the boot. (BSA/Austin)

You need lots of OXYGEN with this steering damper!!!

This weekend very noticeable that Snowdrops are giving us a show on the grassy verges.

Sunday with weather being kind still to us again, so l set off for the foot hills of West Yorkshire & the Huddersfield Falcon MCC which turn out to be very extreme conditions for the riders with the sections being in a steep rocky/wooded valley with a stream at the bottom.

The “Ariel” observer’s new purchase at the Telford Classic Dirt Bike Show just yesterday.

My next port of call was to be Huddersfield International Airport!!

Before flying or riding please check the local weather conditions in the area.

My next high point was Jubilee Tower, Castle Hill.

Two local “Likely Lads” take a interest in my outfit & take a few photo’s on their mobile phone however believe the Mystic/Ural to be a TRIKE!!!

So l ask them if they have internet connection for a sidecar lesson, and they bring up www.sidecarland.com

So at moment l realised that Bob Rebo had past away on the Saturday night. Lots of fond memories came flooding back of Bob the Printer & Rebo of the Associate Section of the Federation of Sidecar Clubs. My early “Mentor” to the life on three wheels.

I will dearly miss the times we shared a bottle of red wine together at sidecar gatherings, plus the very special Rebo Christmas Card.

So it turned out to be a very sorrowful ride home. Michael
