The Wessex Riders
Camping weekend.
I decided to take the XV250 at the last minute, and what a wise choice it turn-out to be. With heavy traffic filtering was a synch and by the time she was at Dunster with a 6 mile queue on the A39 she was making one or two car drivers very envious.
The site is quite small and on the banks of a river with a slope. It was a case of nailing your sleeping bag to the floor to stop you sliding to one corner of the tent or out of the door.
The pub is close by and is very good, the toilets although a little basic and of the portable trailer of the munching type, were clean and better than some I have used.
Good thing is you can have a camp fire which is a bonus these days as many sites don’t allow them anymore.
The ride home was a lot better with less traffic, the XV250 never missed a beat and with the back wind returned around 100mpg an added bonus with the current high price of petrol.
