Suffolk rally this year was a bit like after the lord mayor’s show compared with the London Rally extravaganza the weekend before. In fact the Suffolk rally is so laid back it is horizontal and as you can see Terry (Lord Hallaton) took it literally.
After his recent spell in hospital Lord Hallaton must be improving as he was playing with his squeeze box for the best part of the Friday night. Lord and Lady Hallaton went to bed early, under the premise that Terry was tired, I think it was so he could practice his fingering technique.

Lord Hallaton in horizonal mode.
It was a wee bit windy when I pitched my tent on the Friday and apparently it was gale force on the Thursday. With a fish and chip run Friday and a Sainsburys super store only a mile away, it was no problem sorting out something to eat.

Saturday’s run out was to Felixstowe docks http://www.portoffelixstowe.co.uk and the John Bradfield viewing area http://www.ukattraction.com/east-of-england/john-bradfield-viewing-area.htm and Landguard Fort http://www.landguard.com . It was quite windy on the beach so there was plenty of room in the car park. The museum, which is next to Landguard Fort, only opens on Sundays, Bank holidays and Wednesdays, www.felixstowe-museum.co.uk which was pity as this no doubt is worth a look after visiting Landguard Fort.

Saturday evening and it was awards and raffle. The raffle was conducted in the style of the rally, very laid back, sort of like a 78 record being played at the speed of a 33⅓ LP.
The Suffolk rally is a chill out rally and many just did that without having to smoke something way out man.
Thanks to the Suffolk Club and hope to see you all next year. Martyn
Bove; UK long distance winners, minus Freddie, who was there, but probably with nana and grandad when Martyn took this picture.
