A couple of Outfits at Pickering WWII Weekend.
Ok, no prizes for guessing this person.
Some of us recently went to Pickering, in Yorkshire, to do the WWII weekend. The whole town takes part with shops selling 1940’s gear, halls serving 40’s style food, & street displays ranging from 1940’s singing stars Lola & George Formby to stalls selling memorabilia. Lots of people dress up for the weekend. Helen dressed in her 1940’s dress turned a few heads whilst riding her outfit.
There are events on & around the station as well as events held at all the stations up the line. Friday evening we went to the pub for some food & they had a 1940’s karaoke, Sat night was a WWII quiz which John Spavhound & Denis Harding won beating a pub full of 1940’s re-enactors to boot.
